Consultation has concluded
At the Nov. 18 meeting, the City Council approved the Stormwater Utility to move forward on a proposed stormwater improvement project on Bernadette Drive.
The Utility is proposing to replace the existing stormwater inlet structures and pipes on Bernadette Drive between the Joe Machens dealership and Our Lady of Lourdes Parish.
Flooding occurs on Bernadette Drive because of limited inlet capacity and undersized pipes. The proposed project includes not only larger inlets and pipes, but also additional infrastructure to help with capacity. Hydraulic improvements on properties adjacent to the area are also being considered.
The Stormwater Utility will next ask Our Lady of Lourdes for easements to do the work. return to Council to approve acquisition of easements. Should easements be approved, the Utility will begin negotiations with property owners.
In order to avoid disruption during the Our Lady of Lourdes school session, the Utility would attempt to complete the construction in summer 2025.
