The Columbia region is constantly changing and evolving, creating new transportation-related needs and challenges. To address these needs and challenges, the 2055 Columbia Area Transportation Study Organization (CATSO) Metropolitan Transportation Plan is being created. The 2055 CATSO Metropolitan Transportation Plan will serve as an update to the 2050 CATSO Long-Range Transportation Plan, which was finalized in 2019.
Not only is it important to update the plan to reflect new needs and challenges related to transportation, but it is also important to update the plan so that the Columbia region can receive federal funding for transportation-related projects. Federal law requires that the Columbia Area Transportation Study Organization (CATSO) update the region’s Metropolitan Transportation Plan every five years to be eligible to receive federal funding for various transportation-related projects.
We greatly appreciate all of the feedback we received from residents. Our consultant has used that input to compile their recommended update. This Draft Report is in the Documents section on the right side of the page. This Draft report will be reviewed at the CATSO Coordinating Committee Meeting on December 5. This meeting will be held at City Hall and will begin at 2:30 pm. Members of the public are welcome to attend and make comment.
Thank you for your help in creating a better Columbia region!
