Douglass Park Improvements (2025-2026)

City Council approved proposed park improvements in November 2023. Skate park expansion, pool improvements, and bathhouse renovations are expected to be completed by spring 2026.

Community discussions were held in May to gather resident feedback on the basketball courts and other park amenities.

Parks and Recreation staff is currently creating revised plans for the basketball courts, incorporating the feedback received. These plans will be shared with the community at a drop-in event at a later date. Following this, the plans will be submitted to City Council for approval at a regular City Council meeting. Public comments will be heard at that meeting. Details for these events will be added to this page once they are finalized.

Improvements at Douglass Park are funded by the voter-approved Park Sales Tax, a community revitalization grant from the Missouri Department of Economic Development and private donations.
