Douglass Park Improvements (2025-2026)
City Council approved proposed park improvements in November 2023. Skate park expansion, pool improvements, and bathhouse renovations are expected to be completed by spring 2026. City staff are now seeking further community feedback to finalize plans for the basketball court improvements.
We invite you to join us for a community discussion and/or complete the survey below to provide your perspective. Community discussions will be held at the following dates/locations:
Tues., May 27, 6-8 pm at the ARC (1701 W. Ash St.)
Weds., May 28, 11:30 am-1:30pm at City Hall (701 E. Broadway, Room 1A/1B)
Sat., May 31, 10 am-noon at City Hall (701 E. Broadway, Room 1A/1B).
The content presented will be the same at each event; multiple times are offered to accommodate as many as possible. If you are unable to attend in person, please leave questions and comments below or complete the survey before June 21.
After June 21, Parks and Recreation staff will create revised plans for the basketball courts, incorporating the feedback received. These plans will be shared with the community at a drop-in event at a later date. Following this, the plans will be submitted to City Council for approval at a regular City Council meeting. Public comments will be heard at that meeting. Details for these events will be added to this page once they are finalized.
Improvements at Douglass Park are funded by the voter-approved Park Sales Tax, a community revitalization grant from the Missouri Department of Economic Development and private donations.
Members of the public may attend any open meeting. For requests for accommodations related to disability, please call 573.874.CITY (2489) or email City@CoMo.gov.
