On March 2, the City of Columbia will streamline access to services with the launch of My Key, a new universal eligibility program. The initiative is designed to potentially remove some barriers to applying for assistance by allowing residents to apply through a secure, single sign-on system and submit documentation annually, or as required.

By centralizing the verification process, My Key could provide eligibility access or referrals to four major programs:

  • Utility Assistance

  • Parks and Recreation Scholarships

  • Medication Assistance

  • Go CoMo Paratransit

This could shift the need for residents to provide the same paperwork to multiple departments, significantly reducing the time and transportation costs often associated with navigating City services.

Residents can begin the registration process online at mykey.CoMo.gov beginning March 2. Those who prefer in-person support or need to submit annual paperwork may bring supporting documentation to Public Health and Human Services, 1005 W. Worley St. Documentation needed is photo identification, social security cards for household, proof of income and proof of address. Once eligibility is verified, a resident’s eligibility could remain valid for up to one year (depending on the program).
