The future of recycling in Columbia

Last year, the City of Columbia Solid Waste Utility collected approximately 11,000 tons of recycling from across the city. This represents approximately 5% of all waste collected by the Utility. The City is keen to encourage customers to recycle as much as possible.

The purpose of this survey is to understand better how the City can help customers to recycle more and understand the possible barriers to recycling. The findings will be used to help the Utility develop plans for efficient services while also ensuring residents can participate fully and confidently.

While considering your answers today, please answer as if the Material Recovery Facility were still active.
