The City of Columbia Sewer Utility would like to thank everyone who came by to discuss the proposed sewer improvement project near Forest Hill Court and Ridge Road.
The Utility is proposing to replace the privately maintained sewer system for property owners near Forest Hill Court and Ridge Road. The Utility will construct a public sanitary sewer to serve these customers.
These proposed improvements are part of the Utility’s Private Common Collector Elimination project, started in 2008. Private common collectors are major sources of inflow and infiltration of stormwater into the sewer system. By replacing the outdated, private sewers and connecting these properties into the publicly maintained sewer, the City can reduce the occurrence of backups and overflows.
