We would like to thank everyone who visited our public meeting to discuss two proposed facility expansion projects at the Columbia Landfill.
The Solid Waste Utility’s proposed project would include the addition of two equipment storage buildings as well as a wash bay. The projects are within the Columbia Landfill property and are not expected to have an impact on surrounding properties.
The first project will include the addition of two equipment storage buildings. The proposed buildings will be metal prefab construction enclosed on three sides with concrete floors. One building will be able to house 12 Solid Waste collections vehicles, while the other would be able to house eight.
The second project will include a service bay and an automated truck wash bay. The addition of this facility will help Solid Waste improve the operation, appearance and longevity of the Utility vehicles.
