The Columbia/Boone County Board of Health, at the direction of City Council, has begun reviewing Chapter 5 - Animals and Fowl of the City of Columbia Code of Ordinances. The Board will host a series of public meetings to review potential changes to the ordinances. The first meeting will be held on Thursday, March 13, at the Columbia/Boone County Health and Human Services, Training Room 1, 1005 W. Worley St. The meeting will be begin at 5:30 pm.
The Board will review Chapter 5 - Animals and Fowl for the next several months. The key area of discussion for each meeting will be posted here, as well as the City’s Event Calendar. The meeting scheduled for March 13, 2025, will focus on Article VI. Feral Cats. The meetings will include presentations from staff with a review of existing ordinances and suggested updates to the ordinance followed by a discussion between board members. The Board will also hear comments from the public.
