Columbia Parks and Recreation, in partnership with Columbia Public Schools, is planning a major renovation project at the tennis courts at Cosmo-Bethel Park, 4500 Bethel St. Renovations will include resurfacing all twelve tennis courts. Columbia Public Schools own four of the twelve courts; resurfacing costs will be shared proportionally.
The scope of work includes grinding highpoints and leveling low points, filling cracks and resurfacing (leveling, color coating, and striping). In addition, the City will be installing new lighting at Courts 1, 2, 3 and 4.
The project will be paid for the voter-approved Park Sales Tax, Columbia Public Schools and a potential grant from USTA.
A public hearing will be held before the City Council in the Council Chamber of City Hall, 701 E. Broadway, Columbia, Missouri on Monday, August 4, 2025 at 7:00 p.m. to give all citizens and interested parties an opportunity to be heard in relation to this project.
