Consultation has concluded

City of Columbia Water & Light appreciates everyone who came by City Hall to talk to us about the proposed projects that would extend electric distribution lines.

Proposed projects include the installation of new underground electric lines that would increase reliability and distribute additional power to our customers.

The projects to discuss are:

  • Broadway and Fairview: This project construction starts at the Perche Creek substation on Ludwick Boulevard, follows along Scott Boulevard and Broadway and ends at Broadway’s intersection with Fairview Road.

  • Howard Orchard Road: This project construction starts at the Perche Creek substation on Ludwick Boulevard, follows Louisville Drive and Brushwood Lake Road and ends at the intersection of Howard Orchard Road and Route KK.

  • Westbury Subdivision: This project construction starts at the Perche Creek substation on Ludwick Boulevard, follows Scott Boulevard and Bray Avenue and ends southeast of Hulen Lake at Park Ridge Drive.

  • Bolstad to Blue Ridge: This project construction starts at the Bolstad substation on Peabody Road, follows along the west side of the COLT Railroad and ends at the Blue Ridge substation at the end of Blue Ridge Road.

Work is expected to begin in 2026. No customer service interruptions are anticipated during the work.
