Thank you to everyone who is sharing their vision about the Wastewater and Stormwater Integrated Management Plan.

We have received some great input that will help the Sewer and Stormwater Utilities build a blueprint for the next five years.

The Wastewater and Stormwater Integrated Management Plan (IMP) directs investments to improve wastewater and stormwater infrastructure in the City.

We still want to hear about your priorities for the next five year action plan for wastewater and stormwater. You can leave questions or comments on this page.

During the past five years, the City of Columbia Sewer and Stormwater Utilities have completed critical rehabilitation projects while investing in maintenance and operations in critical areas such as public health and safety, quality of life, sustainable services, regulatory compliance, and water quality in City streams.

Some of the completed 5-Year Action Plan items include:

  • $9.8 million worth of sewer rehabilitation projects in neighborhoods, the Business Loop, downtown and along Bear Creek.
  • $7 million rehabilitation project at the Wastewater Treatment Plant.
  • 1,680 stormwater outfalls inspected for stormwater contaminants.
  • 4,000 feet of failing stormwater pipe replaced.

To plan for the next five years, the Sewer and Stormwater Utilities are updating the IMP by considering new and evolving regulatory drivers, reassessing projects and priorities from the first five years and incorporating new, high-priority projects.
