Columbia/Boone County Public Health and Human Services is asking the community for input on the local food system. Our Food Boone County is a collaborative project between several partner organizations that will assess how food is produced, purchased, accessed, and consumed in Boone County. The assessment will identify needs, gaps, and opportunities in our community's food system, informing future projects and priorities in the County.
The Our Food Boone County Community Survey consists of 25 questions, not including demographic questions, and will take 10-20 minutes for participants to complete. The questions span several categories, including grocery shopping habits, barriers to food access, and community perceptions surrounding food system goals.
Data collected from this survey will inform the entire project's path by providing a broad view of the consistent food-related challenges experienced by a wide variety of community members.
The Our Food Boone County community assessment is funded by the Missouri Foundation for Health. The assessment itself will span several years. The community survey is part of a larger survey series. Food producers, such as farmers and ranchers, will be asked for their input using a targeted survey, as will food retailers, such as business owners and store managers.
Future project stages will include focus groups and individual interviews with key actors in the local food system. Survey participants can indicate their interest in joining a focus group within the survey. Please use the following link to provide your feedback.
