Sewer Improvement Projects
Thank you for your questions and comments. The City is no longer accepting feedback on this project.
The City of Columbia Sewer Utility has proposed sanitary sewer improvements as part of the City’s Private Common Collector Elimination project, which started in 2008. Private common collectors are major sources of inflow and infiltration of stormwater into the sewer system. By replacing the outdated, private sewer and connecting these properties into the publicly maintained sewer, the City can reduce the occurrence of backups and overflows.
If approved, the Sewer Utility would extend and rehabilitate existing privately maintained systems as well as construct a new public sewer.
Project locations to be discussed include:
- West Broadway, West Boulevard South and Sunset Lane.
West Stewart Road and Edgewood Avenue.

Yes, there are only the two projects.
West Broadway and S West Blvd are on the East Sunset map.
Edgewood Ave is on the Stewart map.
Are there maps available with the proposed locations for the work on W Broadway, West Blvd S, and Edgewood Ave?
