The City of Columbia is working to make resident visits to City Hall simpler and more efficient. Planned renovations to the first floor of City Hall will bring together all Utility Customer Service (UCS) functions in one location, making it easier for customers to set up services, make payments and get assistance in a single visit.

The proposed remodel would update approximately 2,350 square feet around the former Daniel Boone Tavern lobby. Plans include opening up the lobby for better access, improving security, reconfiguring seven customer service counters and upgrading mechanical and electrical systems to support the new layout.

An interested parties meeting will be held from 5:30-6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 19, in the Daniel Boone Lobby at City Hall, 701 E. Broadway. Community members are invited to learn more about the project and share feedback.

Public comments will be accepted through Thursday, Dec. 4. You can submit your thoughts below or at the meeting.
