The City of Columbia Public Works department invites you to attend an informal open house to learn more about a planned sidewalk project along West Broadway. The meeting will be held from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Monday, July 14, at the Activity and Recreational Center (ARC), 1701 W. Ash St.
The purpose of this meeting is to present the design concept for the construction of a sidewalk to fill in the sidewalk gap along the south side of West Broadway between Maplewood Drive and West Boulevard. This proposed sidewalk project will include construction of a 5-foot wide concrete sidewalk with a 3-foot wide grass parkway. The project will also include reconstruction of driveway approaches to tie in with the proposed sidewalk and stormwater improvements.
If approved, construction would be scheduled to start in spring 2027.
The open house will feature display boards outlining the proposed improvements. City staff will be available to answer questions and attendees may submit written comments at the meeting. You can submit comments below through July 28. Comments will be considered as the designs are developed.
