West Broadway Sidewalk

A public hearing is scheduled for the West Broadway Sidewalk improvement project at the City Council meeting Monday, Oct. 6, 2025. The meeting starts at 7 p.m. in the Council Chambers in City Hall, 701 E. Broadway.

The City of Columbia Public Works department held an informal open house about a planned sidewalk project along West Broadway. The meeting was held July 14, 2025. The purpose of this meeting was to present the design concept for the construction of a sidewalk to fill in the sidewalk gap along the south side of West Broadway between Maplewood Drive and West Boulevard. This proposed sidewalk project will include construction of a 5-foot wide concrete sidewalk with a 3-foot wide grass parkway. The project will also include reconstruction of driveway approaches to tie in with the proposed sidewalk.

If approved, construction would be scheduled to start in spring 2027.

Comments following the open house were accepted through July 28, 2025. Your comments will be considered as the designs are developed.
