Whitegate Drive Traffic Calming
Whitegate Drive has been identified as a street with traffic operating at speeds that are higher than desirable. The City of Columbia Public Works department held an informal open house meeting concerning a traffic calming project for this street Dec. 4, 2025, at the Reentry Opportunity Center (ROC), 1621 Towne Drive.
At the meeting, information and diagrams showing some preliminary concepts were made available for public review, and City engineering staff answered resident questions. Comments were accepted both online and at the meeting through Dec. 31, 2025, and will be considered as the design is developed.
More information about the Neighborhood Traffic Management Program, including the traffic calming handbook, can be found on the City's website at CoMo.gov/public-works/street-division/traffic-management/neighborhood-traffic-management/.
