BeHeard Implementation
The BeHeardCoMo website was implemented to help increase engagement and transparency with our residents. The City hopes to provide residents an additional way to have their voices heard, to help direct the future of Columbia.
The goals of BeHeardCoMo are:
- To promote engagement by providing a place for residents to learn about important ongoing projects and provide actionable input which will actively shape the course of those projects and conversations.
- To promote transparency by providing a central information repository and allowing residents an easy way to check the status of various items the City is working on.
- To allow those unable to attend in person meetings or work sessions a way to ensure their voice is heard.

Get rid of pay as you go trash service
Get rid of the pay as you go trash service. It’s not helpful at all. I’d be more than happy to pay for a cart every month.

1. Rid the city trash bags. Poor quality. Period. 2. Put trash collection to the private sector. Save on maintenance, healthcare etc ..

Idea for southern arterial connection to 63 - Congestion along Vawter School/Nifong/Grindstone corridor getting unbearable during rush hours
As the city has grown to the SW and South, the south side of town almost exclusively relies on the Vawter School/Nifong/Grindstone corridor to service all traffic moving East or West. During peak hours, the entire south side is plagued by traffic back ups all the way to 63 Hwy which demonstrates the importance of this east/west connection to 63 hwy. However, there is a solution that would significantly relieve the congestion by offering another connection to an already existing major Hwy 63 Exit at discovery parkway which is too underutilized. The issue is that Discovery Pkwy/E Gans Road stops (West Bound at Rock Quarry-See Photo attached) just a half mile short from Connecting to S Providence/Route K intersection (at Rock Bridge Elementary) which forces all southern traffic unnecessarily north to Grindstone in order to get to 63. Are there any plans to connect the south side of Columbia to the interstate and provide relief for all Columbia residents?
